DECLINATION OBSERVATIONS for WINTER 2007-08

Transiting Planets in Declination from December 21, 2007 - March 20, 2008

DECLINATION - Measuring the position of the planets and Moon by degrees north or south of the equator for a three month period.

Studying the declination positions along with the horoscope chart and observing the solar mapping graphic information adds interesting details to the seasonal long range forecast. The lines on the graph present a picture of the planets as they perform a graceful dance through the heavens in relation to earth. When the planet lines on the graph cross there is a related weather event that is usually more impacting than the average weather for a designated location.

At the beginning of the winter season, the sun is always found at the Tropic of Capricorn, its maximum southern position in declination. Trace the sun's line (blue) on the graph from the this position and watch it rise to the equator in March. Note the position of the moon (dark blue line) on the graph; it is currently achieving 27-28 degrees maximum north and south declination, leaving its major standstill position. WINTER DECLINATIONS

Mars (red line) is currently out of bounds for the entire season at 26 degrees declination. This is not a rare position but the planet known in weather for heat and aggressive energy creating turbulence and storms is further north, influencing more regions in the USA (globally as well, at the same latitudes found on a map. The term out-of-bounds (Kt Boehrer) describes a planet in a position beyond the Sun's maximum position possible at 23:28 degrees north/south. Boehrer found that a planet in the out of bounds position acts beyond normal expectations. This is valid in both natal and mundane charts. Next is the Moon (dark blue) interacting with Mars at the beginning of the official season. In general, the turbulent Mars with Moon will bring severe storms in various locations around the world. Check the national trends and local long range weather in the report. This visual also points out how Mars will interact with the Moon's maximum position twice in a matter of a few days. Saturn at 10 degrees north declination interacts with the Moon which brings dismal weather when combined with other observations. Uranus (orange) interacts with the Sun line (blue) twice and will indicate periods of high pressure dominance. Neptune (aqua) is in the thick of it interacting with Mercury several times and can produce variable winds and humidity. Venus (green) is a planet that indicates moisture travels, dips and swings back into a climbing to north action during this three month period. When Venus interacts with other planet lines, there is usually a warmer, moisture producing action - note mid January and the end of February into March 2008.

Pluto (black) is the slowest moving planet which accounts for dramatic intensity when combined with other influences. Again, note the action over the end of February into March. Various locations around the globe will have strong storms. Jupiter and the Sun lines, both in shades of blue) are together for the first week of winter. Jupiter is normally the prognosticator of fair weather; while that will be true in some locations around the globe, but the national trends will show that this week will face monster storms. The last planet, Mercury (purple line) at the out-of-bounds position of 25 degrees south slowly begins to climb northward and will cross the Sun Jupiter position to create perhaps another ice storm much like the December 10th mid west storm in the states. Mercury interacts strongly during the end of February into March period as well. Mercury's weather value is cold, dry and windy.

Students of the weather course are reminded that the longitude chart produces the basic forecast for a lunar phase and the declination information serves to add more detail. Observations, comments and forecasts are welcome.
