Weathersage: Mapping the Planets for Winter 2007-08

The solarmap provides a fantastic visual and it is one of the many tools or models used to forecast weather. The colored lines representing the planets streaming across the map of the USA provides very important information. Each line represents one of the planets in our solar system; each planet represents a form of weather which could impact the area where it falls. The colored planet line positions are taken from the chart (horoscope) based on the moment the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn, at the Solstice point. The position of the Sun is now at the southern hemisphere position and each day through March 20th it will continue to move north until is reaches the equator and thus begins a new season.

The planet lines represent the type of weather that could be dominant for the season, for the area in which it is located. For example the planet lines of Venus and Neptune (green and aqua) are together several hundred miles off the western USA coastline. Venus and Neptune together always indicate a tropical influence of warmer weather and precipitation. The lines cross at 16 degrees north and will influence the winter flow of moisture along the west coast. The planet lines found on the map are placed at one of the four power points on the horoscope and are displayed on the map as the ascendant (1st house cusp), the immum coeli (4th house cusp), the descendant (7th house cusp) and the midheaven (10th house cusp).

The next view is of the Moon and Saturn lines (dark blue and brown) crossing. Together, this pair will bring dismal and severe weather to the regions they influence that can be up to a hundred miles on either side of the line. All of the west coast will feel the effects of this weather energy. Earthquakes and other types of environmental damage are inevitable. The orange line is for the planet Uranus - icy cold fronts and high pressure results from this line indicator. Unexpected and wild swings of temperature are associated with Uranus.

The remaining planets are in a winter bouquet with Pluto (black line) and Mars (red line) as book ends influencing the core three planets Sun (blue) Jupiter (lt. blue) and Mercury (purple line). The keywords for the group are intensity and violence, warm and dry, cool and dry, cold and dry and hot and dry. Separating this group of influences will not be easy, however, the Mars (red line) will be the aggressive and abusive energy that will stir up the atmosphere this winter. The wind velocity from the group as a whole is severe. It will be a windy season across the middle USA and the influence of 'dry' covers the southeastern states as well. Naturally there will be precipitation on the eastern third of the country, but the dry influence is very strong and will lessen the amounts of downfall.
